It is wonderful to be back and starting a new year with all of you! We have a lot of exciting events, projects, and field trips in store for this year, so get your child ready to have some fun! My name is Mr. Scott, and since we have 2 Mr. Scott's right next to each other, I am the Mr. J. Scott to clear up any confusion. I have been teaching for 14 years, mostly in charter schools. I have taught in Flint, Kalamazoo, and Lansing before coming here. This is my second year at Marshall Upper Elementary, and my third year in the Wayne-Westland district. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Master of Arts in Educational Technology.
I have created this site for you to be able to post comments and questions on new content, have a home site to access important documents, calendars, and some assignments. It is also a reference point for getting links to class sites, field trip destinations, and other activities the children will be doing. Throughout the year we will be publishing to this site pictures of the science experiments, student projects, and the students engaged in learning. This is also where your newsletters will be generated from that come out on a regular basis. Use the 'Follow By E-mail' section to the right to be informed of new posts and changes to the site via e-mail. Just type your e-mail address in the window to the right, then you will receive a confirmation e-mail that contains a link. Click on the link after opening the e-mail and you're done! You are now registered and will be informed any time a change has occurred on this site. Please review the syllabus with your child, get the supplies on the supply list, and remember, we will have a lot of work using the Internet, so we need tech agreements to be signed by Friday, September 7th.
