Week of 2/25/13 updates
There will be no progress reports today due to a variety of factors. Progress reports will come home on Thursday of this week, students will have until Friday, March 8th to resubmit them back to me for missing and late work, and will have until March 15th to get them into me for credit. Extra credit reading logs were printed, but due to the craziness of the Friday before break, we were not able to get them out. If your child did any reading last week and would like extra credit, I'll hand those out today for you to fill out and turn into me at your leisure. I will be out this Friday and next Monday due to a surgery I am having. This could not be avoided due to the availability of the doctor. Please remind your child Friday and Monday morning to be extra good for the sub. Have an excellent week!

The Week of 2-25-13
Whew! We are finally at break and the kids really need it. When the students return from break on the 25th, they will receive their progress reports. The progress reports will include new work graded this week and any late or missing work turned in by Friday, February 15th. Any work turned in on the 25th with not be reflected in this progress report, but it will be in the following week's report on March 4th. We are at the half way mark of the marking period, and thanks to all of you who have working with me to keep up on the missing work and grades. This Friday, we rewarded those students who successfully improved their District Math Test score. On March 1st, when I was assured the mid year writing and reading tests would be in the system by, we will reward those who improved on those two district tests. We are in great need of supplies still if anyone is willing to donate them. Your child should have a pair of scissors and glue, which will be necessary for the upcoming science project. Pencils are always in demand, and I am noticing the kids have used up their notebooks. If you could restock your child over break, that would be appreciated. Have a great week and I'll talk to you all soon!

No Sledding Today Due to Rain!
In this area, they're calling for rain by the afternoon, so we'll have to call off sledding today. Keep your fingers crossed for another good snow, and maybe we can do this in the future. Hope you enjoyed your long weekend, and I'll see you all tomorrow! -Mr. Scott

No Wiz IQ!
No Wiz IQ tonight! It is mu wife's birthday and she kind of gave me a look when I asked her if it would be alright to do online tutoring. No "yes" or "no", just a look, so I am betting that meant "no". The Social Studies test is postponed to next week, Monday if we have school tomorrow, Tuesday if not. If we get ample snow, we were thinking of planning a sledding outing this Sunday, February 10th, @ 2:00 p.m. at Kensington Metro Park. If you are interested, check the class web site at: http://up2dategrade6.blogspot.com on Sunday morning for details and information on how to get there. We are not coordinating rides or anything, just meet up at the park at the sledding hills. Take care!
